Image gallery in pure CSS

CSSPlay announced an image gallery which is maded purely on CSS.
You have a horinzontal navigation bar which opens a frame with different thumbnails. When hovering over an image you wil see the same image twice the thumbnail size.
For some tabs, like portraits and landscapes, you can see the image in the origal size of 640x480 px.
This is a nice application all done with CSS and not using any AJAX like code!

Lightbox JS

Through the blog Ajaxian I found the announcement of Lightbox: a way to show thumbnails on and within your websites. With a click on this picture you receive a greater format as an overlay on top of the webpage.
You can even put a range of more than one image: a click on the first image shows you a projection of the first picture where you can scroll throughout the total image range.
The only possible improvement could be that when you start with for example the third picture you can only scroll till the last one. You can't go back to the first one.

I will certainly add thus to my website in due time.

Static page in Wordpress

I was trying to find a static front page on my main website, but I still got my first blog post, which didn't show the whole content. The more... word appears and broke the complete text.

This link proved to be the solution for that the start page was a static page with possibilities to perform page layout in normal HTML.

  • Summer: sparkeling summer sea

  • Autumn colors

  • White form the winter

  • Cherry blossom from the spring

The costums are from Yamamuto.

Have a look to the film description.

Geotool - Google Maps IP address locator

Nice IP address/hostname look-up utility using a Google maps mash-up.

Comment:Pitty Google still has no detail maps from the EU exept for the UK.
I can see a lot of possibilities with Google map also for or orienteering with the combination of using a Garmin GPS.

Some well earned holidays.

Djerba map 2006
We went on holiday for a week in Djerba - Tunisia, in a hotel at the Nord-East side of this beautifull island (see the picture beside) in a the neigbourhoud of the Thalasso hotel (See number 24 - the name of the present hotel changed and I can't find the old name on this old map).
I maded some inside pictures of the swimming pool of this quit big hotel.
We spent the time with long strolls along the beaches in both directions and took the opportunity to walk to Moduin and use the bike for a visit at Moumt Souk.
Temperature was overall quit nice and out of the wind temperature could go up to 25°C.
We made some pictures at FLickr TheWeb
